Fun Times On My Long Weekend

Last night, I ended up going out to Thirsty Lion with Megan and a couple of her friends. It was low key, which is exactly what I needed. Good conversations, a nice fire to sit by and a low carb Monster. What more could a girl want? Ha!

If you know me well, you know that I am not a huge fan of mirror pictures. I’m just not. When you live alone with a pug, and like your OOTD (Outfit of the Day), however, sometimes you just have to suck it up and try to take the nicest looking one that you can.

So yes my friends, here is my OOTD from yesterday. Shirt and jeans are from Pitaya on Mill Ave, shoes are Jessica Simpson and make me look like the Green Giant (I have to be at least 5’9” in those heels.) I have no idea where the belt is from, and I also forget where I got the necklace. I love it, though! It doesn’t go with very many things, so I take advantage of wearing it whenever I can:

My eye makeup was from the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. If you don’t have either of the Naked palettes, get yourself over to Ulta, like tomorrow, and get one. They are practical, versatile, and really easy to travel with.

I wish I had taken a more close up picture of my eye makeup. I just used gold on the lids, medium brown in the crease, ivory as a highlight, and a forest green liner on the lower. Simple, yet effective.

Megan ran the Skirt Chaser 5K earlier in the afternoon, and stayed out until pretty late! What a champ Winking smile.

This morning, I went to a 90 minute Yin/Yang yoga class at Hot Yoga Ahwatukee. It was great! I like having both types in one class. Having a class with just yin gets boring for me. Plus, if I overstretch my hamstrings by staying in poses for too long, they get aggravated. This is the perfect combination of faster and slower poses to me.

After yoga, I went next door to Pomegranate Café and had brunch. As I sat down outside, I got to meet Bailey:

What a cutie! He looked like a yellow lab pup. Total sweetheart.

Look at this deliciousness! The juice was called the Pear Zinger, and had pear, apple, pomegranate and ginger. I want to try this combination in my juicer. In the bowl was the Green Garden Protein Bowl, which is described as:

Egg or tofu scrambled with seasonal vegetables & kale; topped with macadamia-basil pesto and sunflower sprouts”

This was hands down one of the best dishes I have had from here! It had amazing flavor, and tons of cooked veggies that I actually liked! It is crazy how well the tofu was cooked. The lady that served it to me said that it was sautéed  with a Baja Salsa. I wonder if I can re-create it at home…..? I will get this again, and again, and again! It feels so amazing to be good to my body, and to fill it with truly healthy food.

After brunch, I headed over to a spa in Chandler for my “spa afternoon.” I got a Groupon for a  massage with a 30 minute add-on scalp massage and a facial. It was heavenly. It wasn’t the best massage and facial I have ever had, but it was definitely what I needed in my life to relax and be good to myself.

Then, I went to our last Ragnar team meeting at Tara’s. We have so far lost two team members to injury and gained one. Hopefully our new 12th member will end up working out. I am so sad that Ari can’t run, but really proud of her for making the tough decision to rehab her knee properly. I am going to miss her!!!

This week is going to be inundated with Ragnar preparation! This includes reading as many Ragnar race recaps as humanly possible in 5 days! Open-mouthed smile I will probably highlight some of my favorites as the week goes on so you can familiarize yourself with the race if you haven’t heard about it. Definitely stay tuned for a week of fun, blog posts, and Ragnar!!

I’m off to read some blogs and go to bed now. I hope everyone had an amazing weekend!

Happy Trails!

FOTD 10/1/2011 – Fall Inspired

Hello Lovelies! Here is my FOTD from yesterday. First, I primed my eyelids with UDPP, and then with MAC’s paintpot in Genuine Treasure (just up to the crease.) Then, I used MAC’s Jealousy Wakes on the inner lid, and Twinks on the outer half. I used Cork in the crease to blend, then Kid just above the crease as a transition color. I used Blanc Type as my highlight. For eyeliner, I used MAC’s Fluidline in Dipdown on my waterline. I used a light peach frosty blush from L’Oreal’s new Project Runway Collection, and Cover Girl’s TruBlend loose powder bronzer as a contour. As a cheek highlight, I used MAC’s cream colorbase in Shell, set with Silver Dusk. On the lips, I used Jordana liner in Sugary Bronze, Wet N Wild’s matte lipstick in 912C, and MAC’s lipglass from the Wonder Woman Collection called Secret Identity. I love fall, and the colors that it tends to bring out. I would love to see pics of fall inspired looks that you’ve put together! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think!

MAC Haul October 1, 2011

Hello all you lovelies! I had some fun at MAC this week, and thought I’d share the loot with ya! I got two of the new Pro Longwear eyeshadows-Hot Paprika and Plush. I also got two eyeshadows for my pallettes-Naked Lunch and Twinks. They are all beautiful! I also got a new 15 color eyeshadow pallette. I took out the dividers so I can make it my random sized eyeshadow pallette. I got a new foundation-Studio Fix Fluid in NC30. I thought it might be a little too dark, but it ends up blending in very well with my skin, and makes me look tanned like the rest of my body. I got Silver Dusk Iridescent loose powder by the recommendation of Kandee Johnson. I have been wanting it for awhile now. I have the cream colorbase in Shell, so I’ll be putting a bit of Silver Dusk on top to set it as a highlight. Does anyone have any other ideas for uses of Silver Dusk? Leave a comment below :-) Here are the pics!

My New Random Pallette – Top left is Pewter from Stila that I got in my Birchbox a few months ago. Middle Left is a sample from Ulta by Urban Decay – I think it is the StarDust eveyshadow, or something like that. It’s supposed to be glittery without any fallout. To the right around Hot Paprika are Expensive Pink and Paradisco by MAC.

I have also been enjoying a few candles from Bath and Body Works: Leaves and Marshmallow Fireside. Check them out-they smell amazing!! Please leave comments below-I would love to hear your ideas! Have a great day!

MAC Posh Paradise Paint Pots

Happy Friday! I was able to get my hands on three of MAC’s limited edition paint pots from their Posh Paradise collection! I got Genuine Treasure, Idyllic, and Treasure Hunt. EOTD-June 27th, 2011 – Swish with Glitter and Black Liner

Here is my EOTD for today. I used Swish from MAC on the lid, and a white, lightly shimmered highlight from WnW (at the top of one of the three color pallettes). I used a purple glitter liner from NYX on the top, and Stila Smudgestick in Stingray on the waterline.I set it with a matte black eyeshadow.  Then, I used “They’re Real” by Benefit for my mascara. It was my 100 point gift from Sephora this past weekend.  Might I say that I am VERY impressed by this mascara, and might get it in the full size!  Enjoy!

MAC Surf the Ocean Pigment Stack

(Pardon my sunburnt nose :-)   )

I finally got it! I am so excited! I got the pigment stack from MAC called Surf the Ocean from their Surf Baby Collection that was released for the summer. It comes with a gold, silver, dark almost navy blue, and a sea green frost. I was just playing around with a few of the colors. There is a little bit of the navy pigment in the crease, and the silver pigment foiled with some Fix + on the lid. I wasn’t even trying very hard, so I can’t imagine how beautiful these colors will be when I actually do a real look. Let me know if you have this, or it’s sister stack of pinks, etc. How do you like it? Is this something you are planning on purchasing?

NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Swatches

Hi everyone! I just went to Ulta today, and bought two more NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils because they were SO cheap! They are 40% off through tomorrow-so gather them up before the sale ends! I LOVE using these over my primer, and under my powder shadows. They definitely help improve color payoff and staying power. I thought it would be nice to swatch the ones I own so you guys could see what they look like before you buy them. I have 8 colors that I feel are very wearable, and can be used with a lot of looks. Here they are, enjoy!! ~Stacey
