Yesterday, Team Chances NYC did a ladder workout at track that definitely kicked my butt! A ladder workout looks like this:
1-1-2-1-3-1-4-4-4-1-3-1-2-1-1-1
One minute hard, one minute easy, two minutes hard, one minute easy, and so on. The 4 minute hard intervals were killer!!! My legs are still sore today! I had to run to the porta potty during the end of the 3 minute hard, and into the 1-2-1 section, so my splits look funny. I have also never reset my laps during a workout before, so that took some getting used to. Here are my splits from that workout:
At first, I slowly jogged the one minute rest periods. After the 2 minute hard interval, I was so winded that I walked them. Track workouts are so different, and even though I kind of want to keel over during some parts of them, I really do like them! My running friends say track workouts really help improve your speed a lot. I can’t wait until it cools down to really see how much I have improved!
I got my new nail polish in the mail today that I talked about in my last blog post! It’s called “Lady Like” by Essie. I LOVE it! I am wearing it right now. Here it is:
I feel like the flash tones down the “rosiness” of the color a little bit. Isn’t it pretty, though!? It’s such a natural color and it goes with almost anything!
This picture shows the true color better than the previous picture. I couldn’t find this color at my Walgreens. I think it might be an old color, or a seasonal one. I actually got mine on Amazon.com for less than I would’ve paid at Walgreens, even with shipping! It got here in like 3 days, too, so even better!
What is your favorite nail polish color? Or your favorite for the summer? What have you been doing this week for your workouts?
Happy Trails!
Stacey
Bummer, I don’t think these pics are doing your shade any justice. I can’t wait to see it in person. My personal summer favorite has been Essie’s “to buy or not to buy.” Its a pastel/pale lavender color. As I tan more throughout the summer the contrasting shades become more attractive to me. Unfortunately it is rubbery now and I need a new bottle before I can wear it again. Although, the fuschia-esque shade I’ve been wearing for the last week, Essie’s “secret story,” has proven to be a fantastic choice as well.
I’ve been a lazy turd this week in terms of working out. I’ve switched to an eat-less-exercise-less routine to get my metabolism going again and its working. I think I was over-training/under-eating before and it caused my plateau. My plan is to get up early and start my day right with a good work out before I see you at the Wag. We’ll see if that happens. 😉
Anyway, I’m very impressed by your ladder workout. The splits are funny at first, but you really got the hang of it. Inspirational workout! Good job!
You’re so funny! A lazy turd! I was actually a lazy turd today! I was supposed to do three miles at recovery/relaxed pace and strength training, but i was SO sore! I took an afternoon nap instead. I am going to try and get up before work tomorrow, as well, to get in my three miles. Hopefully tomorrow will be a great day! Try adding a few drops of nail polish remover or acetone to your “rubbery” polish and shaking it before you buy a new one. You may be able to squeeze a few more uses out of it before you throw it away. The ladder workout was great! Thanks 🙂
I totally tried that nail polish remover trick and it still work… I added more remover to the polish and it didn’t help… added more… didn’t help. Boo. Guess it was just time. So while I was at work today I went to buy more and bought a different color instead. Its a cute baby pink shade called “neo whimsical”. You’ll like it I think. FYI, that top coat I have that works really well came a Nailene french manicure set. Its the Nailene Acrylic Strong: Protecting, Base, & Top Coat. I bought it at least a year ago and its still awesome. I obviously didn’t remember to wear it most of the time.
I already checked a store for it and it wasn’t sold separately. But it was only one store.
Aw, boo!! That sucks….was it real acetone polish remover? If not, try acetone. I have seen the Neo Whimsical before, but can’t remember exactly what it looks like. I have mine painted Ole Caliente right now, and it’s staying on surprisingly well. I’ll be doing a blog post on it. Probably because I roughened the tops of my nails up really really well this time. I’ll have to check out the topcoat. I can always have a fun french manicure for a few days!
I use summer as an excuse to have bright nails (currently a color called Pop Apricot, so you can guess), but I’m always on the hunt for that perfect neutral! Love the color shares!
