If you've been following me for awhile, you'll remember that I frequently complain about the fact that my nails do not tend to keep polish on for very long. I have tried what seems like everything, and my polish always seems to chip after one or two days. I have even had the best topcoats on with the polish peeling off in sheets within 2 days.
I've tried Seche Vite:
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri:
China Glaze Fast Forward:
and Essie Good to Go Rapid Dry:
Seche Vite is the one that peels off (nail color and all). I have seen so many bloggers that love SV and wouldn't use anything else.
I saw this on Pinterest last week, and decided to try it:
Here is what I used:
I couldn't find No Chip “Acrylic” Top Coat, just that one above. The manicure turned out great!
The color I used is called Wrapped in Rubies
However, here was my manicure the next day:
Keep in mind that I'm still not working, so that's pretty bad considering the circumstances.
I saw this color on Pinterest and remembered that I own it!
I decided to just try it alone using two coats with no base or top coat:
Here are my nails the next day:
I also saw this idea on Pinterest that I tried:
I used Essie's Merino Cool:
I love this color, because it's pretty neutral and great for fall.
Here is the manicure the next day:
There is hardly any chipping! It looks like there is a chance the vinegar actually does help!
I tried another color with the vinegar as a base:
“Raisin the Bar” by Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure
Two to three days later:
So far with all of my experimentation, using the vinegar before polishing has turned out to be the most effective way to get longer staying color! Plus, it's cheap!
Does anyone else have this problem? What have you tried that works the best? Leave me some love below and tell me all about it!
