BIC Bands Product Review!!

I was one of those girls that couldn’t wear headbands. Either the headbands that stayed on my head (plastic, metal, etc) were too tight, and caused me to get a headache, or the cloth ones slipped off the back of my head. I pretty much gave up on wearing them, and was jealous of other girls that could!

I was reading another running blog, and saw that BIC Bands promised to stay on your head. They looked really cute, and were only $10 for the Minnie BIC Bands, so I decided to order one! The first one I tried was the Minnie Sparkle Gunmetal (3/8” wide). I wore it for a run, and was amazed! The velvet on the underside of the band actually held it in place on my head! Wow! So I decided to order more.

This is the Minnie Sparkle Gunmetal (3/8”) and the Skinny Sparkle Fuchsia Hot Pink (5/8”)

I was definitely hooked after I started wearing them all of the time during runs and to work. Not only are they the perfect accessory to compliment a running outfit, they keep my baby flyaways off of my face while I am running!  Does anyone else have broken hairs all around their face from constantly wearing your hair in a ponytail? I could probably make mini-braids out of mine. That’d be hot….said no one ever.

Here is my Minnie Sparkle Purple

You’ve gotta have black, it goes with everything! This is the Minnie Solid Black

And last, but definitely not least:

The Thin Animal Instinct Black Zebra! This one is probably my favorite, since it goes with so much, but it’s not a solid color. Definitely a staple in any fun and stylish runner’s repertoire!

So when I saw BIC Bands make a Facebook post a few weeks ago about being in San Diego, I asked if they would be at the AFC Expo. She said yes and to come by and see her at booth #30! I was so excited!

When I got to the expo, and got my race packet, I proceeded to shop around a little, and then stop by and meet Sandy, the owner! She is super nice! Look how cute their booth was!

It was so nice to finally meet someone that I have talked to through blogging and social networking that lives far away from me! I got to talking to her about my blog, and she gave me the two BIC Bands I was going to buy so I could do a review for her! I have never actually been given an item before to review, so I was SO excited!

I learned that BIC (Because I Can) Bands started out as a fundraiser for Sandy when she teamed up to run her first half marathon with Team in Training. The charity she ran and raised money for was the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The cool part is that she built a business out of her fundraiser. She also still donates part of her sales to a different charity each month!

Her bands are also the most reasonably priced of the ones I have seen online and at expos. BIC Bands that are between 3/8” and 1” wide are $10, while her 1.5” ones are $13.

This is the High Voltage “reflective” Thin BIC Band. This is one of the ones she gave me to review. It is the thickest one I own, at 1” thick. I always tended to go with the really thin ones, but this one is a great size! I like all of the sizes I have tried so far. Here is a size comparison with the Minnie:

I wore this one during the AFC Half Marathon:

I chose the reflective one because I like to run at night during the fall and winter. It will definitely draw attention to you if you run along busier roads with a lot of traffic. It’s super cute, too!

She also gave me the Minnie Sparkle Red to review:

It matches my Pat’s Run shirt and my favorite red work shirt, so I love it!

All in all, I am a huge fan of BIC Bands! I will definitely continue to support Sandy and her business. Someday, maybe I’ll own every color!

You can check out BIC Bands and get some for yourself on their website. Go check it out today, and let me know how you like them! Also, follow BIC Bands on Facebook to stay updated on new designs and great deals and promotions!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Good luck to Sandy and her sister who is running her first half marathon at Disney this weekend!

Happy Trails!

Stacey
