Last Day of A Crazy Awesome Year!
I woke up on New Years Day feeling like I was catching a cold. Great, what a perfect start to a new year! Is this an omen to how things are going to be this year? You know what? Maybe, maybe not. I feel like life gives you challenges, and it’s how you react to them that defines your character. I was faced with a lot of challenges in 2012, and that’s probably not going to change this year. I will be ok! I wouldn’t have it any other way. If I am not faced with challenges and an opportunity to grow, then I am not living life. I want to live life, enjoy life, be treated the way I deserve in life, and get the most that I possibly can out of life!
New Years Eve was a long day for me. I had a really early meeting, followed by another meeting, followed by work. Then, I went home, took a nap, got ready and went out. I haven’t been out on “Amateur Night” in a few years. I definitely had fun! I just had a headache the last half of the night and was totally exhausted! (Makes sense now that I woke up sick.) However, I was with great company, and definitely got my glam on! I love a night to party where I can dress up fancy with no reservations about being overdressed.
The biggest decision of the night was which shoes to wear with my dress.
The ones on the right won! Thanks ladies for your help! Thanks also to Ali for the awesome shoes you picked out for your wedding! I knew I would be able to put them to good use again someday!
We started with appetizers and drinks at the Blue Hound restaurant in the Palomar Hotel in downtown Phoenix. I had Lavender Earl Grey iced tea and Mushroom Risotto Croquettes. They were both fantastic! I want to invest in a real lavender plant (tree?) so I can make my own at home!
I told Devin that I would make risotto for him sometime since he has never had it. I love risotto! It is like a blank canvas to which you can add anything! I am thinking about adding mushrooms and rosemary. If I make it, I will definitely do a post about it!
The party we went to was outside in the pool area of the Hotel Palomar, and was themed “Winter Wonderland.” They had plenty of heaters, but it was still freezing cold!!
I had some fun with the Conair Infiniti wand tonight. It was so much easier than I expected!
Dan is so good at photo bombing, he doesn’t even know he’s doing it!
Happy Birthday Dan! I hope you had an awesome night!!
What did you do for New Year’s Eve?
What did you wear?
Can anyone guess where I got my dress and how much I paid for it? Bet you can’t….
Happy Trails!
