Random Weekend in Review Pics
How cute is he!?? I wasn’t super excited for it to be Friday this week, because it was my weekend to work. I did have a vacation day scheduled for Sunday, so that made it a little better. I ended up actually helping out my scheduler on Saturday by picking up a 2am-8am shift to prevent a store from having to close. In return, she covered my 10am-6pm shift Saturday. This means that I worked 9am-9pm Friday, went home and slept for two hours, then went back to work from 2am-8am. Yes, it seems crazy, but after Ragnar, I knew I could handle it. It was only a six hour shift, so it wasn’t too bad. Then, I felt like I had the whole weekend off! It worked out, and I’m glad I did it .
Friday night when I got home, I checked my mail, and look what I got!!!
I was so excited! I changed my laces on my running shoes right away. I mean, it says you run faster with pink shoe laces, right!??
After I got off work Saturday, I went by 24 Carrots to get breakfast to bring with me to my usual Saturday morning meeting. Look how amazing this looked:
It was called an Arizona Bowl, and it had fresh veggies, potatoes (sweet and regular), soy chorizo, avocado, and greens. It was really good! It definitely helped me meet my goal of 7-9 servings of “Freggies” a day for the Booty Buster Challenge! (Freggies=fruits and vegetables if you haven’t figured that out yet)
I’ve been thinking about getting a new car for awhile now. Since moving and living on my own, I have had an itch to get a car with a lower car payment, or at least upgrade to a car that justified it. Long story short, I ended up with a payment on my Sentra that was way more than it should’ve been. If I was going to pay that much for a car, it needed to be a much nicer and more luxurious one.
So after I woke up on Saturday, I decided to take a little trip down to Chapman BMW and check out what my options were. After credit check and number crunching, I was given three options. This was by far my favorite:
She is a 2010 BMW 128i convertible. I wasn’t planning on getting a convertible, but after driving her, I just couldn’t resist! Isn’t she awesome!?? After all of these years working as a pharmacist and making decent money, I think I deserve to have a nice car of this caliber. So I got her!!!
Chapman did an awesome job of taking care of me and everything that had to do with funding me the perfect car. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a BMW. As crazy as it sounds, my payment only went up a little bit from hat it was before! Yay!!
I am still in shock that I actually drive a Beamer! Too cool….
I woke up Sunday morning and had overnight oats with almond butter, flax seed, slivered almonds and sliced banana. What a great combination!
Then, I headed out to run some errands, and meet Karen out at Pomegranate café for lunch. The weather was amazing, so I decided to go topless:
At Pomegranate Café, we split the daily burger and a healthy burrito that came with veggies and hummus and root veggie fries. I also got a shot of wheatgrass and a Cowgirl Cookie.
Does anyone know if a regular juicer will juice wheatgrass? I have been wanting to find it somewhere and try it.
Then we went to get a pedicure. I hadn’t had a pedicure done in like a year! I used to get them all the time. Now that I have so much nail polish, though, I just can’t justify going to get them done very often!
I brought Ali home a Lamb Chop toy for Easter season:
It has a big squeaker in the middle, and little squeakers in each paw. Needless to say, she loved it!!
I did a modified WOD for exercise today. It originally looked like this:
I don’t have barbells at home, so I changed the bench press to pushups, and did sit ups instead of cleans. I used a 15 lb kettle bell for the dead lifts since my hamstrings are still weak. It got really hard to do the push ups after I got to the 8, 7 and 6 rounds! I did it in just over 11 minutes:
Then, I made baked spaghetti squash bowls with a black bean burger spaghetti sauce, topped with low fat mozzarella cheese for dinner. It was absolutely amazing! This is one of my favorite healthy recipes to make. It is SO easy! Cut the squash in half, take out the seeds, add salt, pepper, spray with EVOO, and bake for 55 minutes at 350.
Make whatever kind of sauce you want. I warmed up a spicy black bean burger, chopped it up, and added it to Ragu I had in the pantry. When the squash was done, I poured the sauce into the “bowls”, topped with cheese, and broiled for 3-5 minutes. This is what I got:
Absolutely delicious! I am super excited to have one to take with me to work tomorrow.
I saw this on Facebook today, and it made me laugh
I hope all of you had a great weekend! I am off to bed to rest up for an early Monday.
Happy Trails!
