Millions of Peaches....Peaches for Me
Today has been a much better day for me, even though I did have to do some running around this morning. I'm at home now relaxing in the couch with a heating pad under me watching Breaking Bad. I've heard great things about it, so I hope it's good!
I had a therapist appointment (yes friends I see a therapist-I'd be out of my mind to go through what I've gone through this year without having an unbiased sounding board helping me through it) and talked about a lot of good stuff. My body is telling me to slow down and be good to it, so I'm going to. God is taking away all of my distractions for one reason or another:
I am now going to focus on myself, being good to myself, learning more about myself, and healing from this past year's shenanigans.
I am going to come up with a strength training plan for people that can't stand for long periods of time, and blog about it. I have all sorts of ideas now! Here's another good quote I found on Pinterest:
I also have lots of ideas for things to cook! I've been brainstorming, and can't wait to try my ideas and share them with you guys. I got more peaches today from Trader Joes. Look at these! They were only $4.99!
I also got some almonds to try making my own almond butter. Literally, you put almonds in a food processor. That's it. I used my magic bullet. I started with this:
And ended up with this:
It turned out so good! I paid 1.99 each for two 2 oz bags at the checkout on impulse. The almonds from both bags only made the amount of almond butter you see above. I always wondered why almond butter is so expensive. Now I guess I know why!! I'm going to see if I can find almonds in bulk and make my own from now on to save some money (and know exactly what is in mine.) It may turn out to be too much of a pain in the ass. I might try mixing a couple of kinds of nuts in different combinations. Should be fun! If I get some good results, I'll share them with you guys.
Ali loves to lay in the sun. In fact, this morning right before I left, she wanted to go outside. I let her out to "go potty poo poo" and this is what she did:
Almost so cute I couldn't make her go inside so I could leave! Whenever I open the blinds and the sun shines in, she finds the sunny spot and lays in it.
I had another super healthy and yummy salad for lunch. My therapist reminded me today that 80% (or so) of losing weight and staying in shape weight-wise is due to diet. For the most part, I DO have control over what I choose to eat. Remember the whole chocolate chip thing from yesterday? Do I do it every day? Nah. Do I keep my pantry stocked with Oreos (love them!! ESP Double Stuff) and my freezer stocked with full fat ice cream? Nope. Even my snacks are usually in the healthy side. For example, these from yesterday:
I am going to start focusing on the things I do have control over, and not so much things I don't. Easier said than done, but I'm going to try.
Thanks so much to all of you that commented on my blog post and reassured me this morning. I have really great people around me in person and in the blogging world, and I am grateful :-).
I'm full of quotes and sayings today. I'm totally addicted to Pinterest!
One more awesome thing is I got this in the mail today:
I am almost out of MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural, so this couldn't have come at a better time!
I love shopping with "free" money! Especially when I know I am going to buy the things that earned me the points regardless of the rewards program.
I'm going to spend the rest if the evening resting and watching my newest Netflix addiction :-). Have a great rest of your day!!
Happy Trails,
Stacey
