Holiday Weekend Shenanigans and Frank the Elf

Thanksgiving Day, I made some desserts to take over to Ari's house since she so kindly invited me over to spend the evening with her and her family. Ali tried to help....

I made two Pear Tarts, one gluten free and one not:

This one was GF:

Then, I made a super healthy gluten free pumpkin pie:

I made both the crust and the filling in my Vitamix, so it was really easy.

I went over there around 5, and helped Ari finish up some of the cooking. They were dog sitting for a friend, so they had three pups at their house! Lucious has perfect ballet turnout-I was quite impressed!

I had SUCH a great time meeting your family, Ari. The food was incredible, and I ate way too much!

Steve cut the turkey like a boss.

Love this girl! I can't wait to have our bake fest over here soon!

Of course I brought Ali home some of the goods. She always gets a special bowl for TGiving :-).

And I always make her sit and be polite before she eats it.

Friday, I started decorating the house for Christmas, and watched some good old Louisville basketball while I was at it.

The correct way just for you Mom ;-)

Do you guys like my new penguin mugs? If you didn't already know, penguins are my absolute favorite winter/Christmas animal!

Festive coffee bar!

The front door so far. I got some lights to out on the wreath, but now I need some C batteries to go with them.

More penguins!

I put the tree up on Saturday, and look who decided to break into the house and tell me I still needed a tree topper!

The nerve....

Saturday night, I went with Karen to my first Christmas party of the year-Bill's 4th Annual Redneck Christmas party!

That's real classy Karen....

Joe and Melissa were there! It was so fun to finally hang out somewhere other than Sole!

Again, classy....

All I needed for my outfit for it to be complete was some of these teeth!

So overall, I had a great Holiday weekend! It's so great to get to spend more time with friends during this season. At times, I've felt really isolated over these last 6 months, so it will be really good for me to get out of the house and have some fun.

Coming up later this week is my yummy risotto and baked chicken from last Friday, and some more adventures and trouble making of Frank the Elf. Have a great week, and I'll talk to y'all soon!

Happy Trails!

Stacey
