UPDATED - Long Overdue Injury and Rehab Update
Hi you guys! Thanks for stopping by today. I haven’t posted for awhile on my recovery, because I haven’t really known what has been going on. I was doing really well, and improving to the point where I got to try running on the AlterG. After the second time, my right side started getting aggravated again. It bothered me so much that I had to stop. (This is probably 3-4 weeks ago.) Since then, things just have not been right. I am having some of the same pain I was having before the surgeries, and anything I did that utilized the hamstring muscles would cause it to flare up. LaRissa suggested I go to an ortho here in Scottsdale to get another opinion, because we just knew there was still something significantly wrong.
To make a long story short (my famous last words, always haha!!) I had to get another MRI before I could see this doctor. **UPDATE 10/24**-I will be going back to California to see Dr Guanche. He is one of the top hip surgeons in the country, and the ortho here will not see me because of it. I was hoping to be able to stay in Phx for any further issues, but I will have to travel again to see the best :-). These were the results:
To sum things up, I have a labral tear and a partially torn gluteus medius muscle on the right side. Was this missed? No one knows. I just know that it’s never felt the way it feels right now on the right side. I don’t know why on earth my labrum is still torn when i just had it repaired. We’ll likely need to do an MR arthrogram to see in detail what’s actually going on in the hip joint itself. I am still fine working and everything for now, so thank God. I have no idea what the next step is going to be at this point, because I am still processing the information myself. I am currently waiting to hear back from Dr Guanche’s office to figure out when I can go out to LA and be seen.
Thanks so much to all of you for your support through all of this. They say God gives his toughest battles to His strongest soldiers. There are people out there with way worse things than this, so I am going to stay positive and take things one day at a time. I will keep you all posted.
Pardon any typos or grammatical errors, as I am typing this very quickly right before leaving for work.
Y’all have an awesome rest of the week, and I’ll talk to you soon!
Happy Trails,
Stacey
