The 12 Days of Blogmas - Day 3
I’m not going to sugar coat it. Today, my body said “eff you, you’re not doing anything today, because I’m going to make you feel like the life has been sucked out of you.” I think sometimes healing takes a lot out of a person. After my rather large speed bump this past weekend, I’ve been in some significant pain. Yesterday was the worst of the three days. Today, I still didn’t feel that great, so I just laid low all day; and by lay low, I mean slept.
Every night I have these epic plans for the morning like getting up at a halfway normal time (i.e.: 9am, not 1pm), doing some work (on the blog, filming, taking pictures, Nerium) before noon, and in general, just not being nocturnal. I wake up at 3am on the regular (if I’m asleep before then.) Then, at 5-6am, Miss Thang wakes me up to potty poo poo and eat. Then, I go upstairs to sleep the rest of the time in my bed. Sleeping in my own bed has been heavenly, to say the least! I’ve actually been sleeping on my couch since my parents left, because its a sectional with a wider side at one end that is a good place to lie down. (Is it lay or lie down?) It’s just easier to stay out in the living room instead of drag all of my stuff into the guest bedroom and back twice a day. So today, I went upstairs, got super cozy, set my alarm for 9:45am, and then fell asleep. Next thing I know, I wake up and it’s 12:50pm. Really Stacey? Again!?!? My friends at PT are just mystified as to how I maintain these ridiculous hours of going to bed and waking up. All I can say is that one off day sets up a trend that continues to get worse until I am up till 4am and sleeping till 2pm. After I woke up today, I started watching some YouTube, and fell back asleep until 2 something. Then, I went downstairs, picked up Ali’s present she left me for leaving her downstairs (she can go up, but she can’t/won’t go back down, and I can’t carry her down right now for obvious reasons), and had lunch. I assumed my position on the couch with my cold machine on, and proceeded to fall asleep again until almost 4pm. I wasn’t trying to sleep! It just happened. I’ve learned that sometimes you just have to let your body do what it’s going to do. If it’s taking my energy and using it to heal my hamstring, then I’m all for it.
I’ve been wanting to do a look I’ve been thinking about for a few days now, and finally did it and filmed it tonight! It’s a Cranberry Gold Holiday Look :-). Before I shot the tutorial, I decided to take some pictures of my makeup area like I promised you guys yesterday. In my house, I have a loft that is right at the top of the stairs and outside of my master bedroom. The prior owner used this space as an office. I decided that I needed a Woman Cave. If you guys have been reading my blog for while, then you remember when I built the makeup station and mirror. Here is the blog post about that. (My house is SUCH a Bachelorette bad. It’s awesome!) Since then, I have reorganized my makeup collection a couple of times, the most recent time being a couple of days ago. Here are the results of my OCD at work ;-) :
The lights around my mirror are so bright that I unscrewed every other one to tone it down some. My favorite part of this is the lipstick holder that holds 60 tubes. I was able to separate my lipsticks and glosses into separate holders to make them easier to go through.
That last picture is of my work in progress. I am decorating the railing to make it a good background for my tutorials. I will probably end up shooting things like haul videos or reviews from this desk with my makeup station as a background jut to change things up a little bit.
So if you think this is ridiculous (as in ridiculously AWESOME), then check out some of these beauty bloggers and YouTubers. This is a huge passion of mine, and of theirs’ as well. A girl can never have too much makeup, or shoes for that matter. So there. :-D
Carli Babel who I absolutely love!! She is a newer favorite of mine that I have been watching for the past couple of months. She also has a channel dedicated to inspiration, self-love, positivity, and just awesome life advice in general. She’s an all-around beautiful person inside and out. Check her out!
CoffeeBreakWithDani Dani is super fun and bubbly, and I think we could be best friends! She not only has a lot of makeup, but he really has a lot of nail polish! The video linked is her nail polish collection and organization. Definitely check out her videos!
Emily Eddington’s Beauty Broadcast I have been watching Emily since I first started my makeup obsession on YouTube. She used to be a newscaster for a TV station in Illinois, and was able to quit her day job because of her success with her channel. (She has more than one channel now!) I love her, because she’ so down to earth, honest, and she reviews both high end and drugstore products.
Jaclyn Hill Jaclyn is one of my very favorite YouTubers. I started following her a few months ago, too, and can’t believe I didn’t find her sooner! She is a makeup artist that used to work for MAC for four years. She is so talented and absolutely hilarious! She’d be really fun to hangout with, too! Definitely check her out!
There are a lot more where that came from, but it’s getting late, and I need to go to bed.
Here is a picture of the look I filmed tonight. I will out a few more up in tomorrow’s post.
Have a great day tomorrow, and I’ll talk at ya soon!
Happy Trails,
Stacey
