New Years Week in Review
It’s been a little bit busy in the AZ Hollen household! I am up to three times a week for PT, and back to my normal schedule for meetings, etc. Add Nerium, filming, blogging, and trying to keep myself sane, and you have a very busy woman! I just signed my first brand partner on NYE, and I couldn’t be more excited!! My friend Kathleen is going to rock Nerium!! 2015 is going to be an amazing year, I just know it! I am stepping out of my comfort zone, and trying new things with hopes of going places I’ve never gone.
I had a wonderful New Years! I went to Maya Day and Night Club in Scottsdale with my friends Kerry, Kerri, Amanda and Laura, and had a total blast! Clubbing sober is so much nicer than the alternative for me. I know I’m going to have a great time. Then if for some reason I’m not, then I can drive myself home!
I got my dress from a website called Tobi.com. I got 50% off of my first order by signing up for their email list (I think that’s how.) It was available in black, navy, and a reddish cranberry color. They have a lot of cute stuff that is really reasonable! I got a small, and it fit true to size IMO.
I chose to do rose gold with glitter eye look to go with it. I really wanted to do a silver look that I did previously, ———>
but warmer tones really went better with the navy dress and nude shoes. Carli Bybel did a rose gold look for New Years this year on her channel, and it inspired me to do the same! I didn’t take pics before I went out, because I didn’t have time. My eye makeup held up really well, though, so here are some from afterwards:
The lashes I used are from Velour lashes, and are the style called “You Complete Me.” I am slowly learning what works and what does not for me regarding false lashes. I cannot put a strip from inner corner all the way to outer corner. The inner lashes always touch the bridge of my nose and the inner corner, and I just can’t deal with it. Best practice for me is to cut the lashes to fit along the outer 2/3 of my lash line, and just put mascara on my inner lashes. Also, looking down into a mirror helps a ton! Do you guys want me to do a tutorial on how I do this? I have actually been asked, and just haven’t done it yet.

We ended the night at Live Wire where a friend had a table. Free Red Bull is always welcome in my world! Again, a photobomber! Luckily the girls actually knew him, though.
I got home at about 2:30am, and look who was SO happy to see me!! She’s like MOMMY!!!! Where you been all my life!?? Give me a treat!! It seriously took me like a day and a half to recover from my night of partying, and that’s sober!!! I don’t even want to think about how worthless I used to be the day after a night out drinking. The whole New Years experience made me grateful to be sober, honestly. (Not due to any of my friends’ behaviors, but just randoms.)
I am SO excited for a new year, and the opportunity to try new things, throw my comfort zone out the window, continue to become my best self mentally and physically (God willing! Please God!), grow my business, explore what really makes me happy, and do it with the amazing people in my life by my side! I am going to do a blog post on this hopefully tomorrow, and get it posted this week. I have goals, and a list of things I want to do this year if it’s in the cards for me.
I’m at Hillside Spot, which was my headquarters for BCACP studying, again today so I could get out of the house and focus on stuff I’ve been putting off doing. I have a tendency to fall sleep when I’m at home. Laptop on my lap, Ali by my side, and I’m out like a light before I know it! Here, it’s a great environment with a bottomless cup of coffee, and I’m set for a whole afternoon of productivity. Today, I filmed part one of my next tutorial, which I will tell you about when I get it all done and edited. I did rose gold again on my eyes, but way lighter and more natural this time.
Of course the picture is in terrible lighting, because I forgot to take pics upstairs at my makeup station, but you guys get the point. I also used a Color Sensational lipstick from Maybelline called Touchable Taupe that I got last fall. I am doing a Makeup No Buy for the month of January. It’s just something I need to do for myself, because I have so much makeup, and I keep getting new stuff and forgetting about the products I already have. I have some blog posts and videos planned to utilize makeup that I haven’t used in awhile or haven’t ever used at all! Yes, I have eyeshadows that have been collecting dust that need to be used!! Plus, I only have a couple more months left to really get what I can out of my dark and sultry fall and winter colors, so I need to take advantage of it!
My outfit of the day is a super comfy pair of Wonder Unders from Lulu in a brown and cream colored pattern. They paired perfectly with a basic reddish brown top and my Uggs. It is SO cold here in AZ right now!! I am not complaining, though!! It is 54 degrees F right now, and the sun is going down. Time to bundle up in the Valley! So here is the outfit:
