Life Update and Picture Dump
Hi guys! I have so many pictures I want to share with you that I have accumulated! First, I want to update you on my life. I am 5 weeks post-op now, and slowly improving. My right leg (the one that had the hamstring repair in November) is really aggravated still. It’s been really hard with it having to be the strong one taking the brunt of all of the work. It wasn’t fully healed when I had my left leg done, and has made it known that it is pissed. It is stronger, but still hurts quite a bit when I engage the hamstring. My left leg is healing, but it’s just such a slow process! I extended my brace another 30 degrees today, and next week will be able to start putting my foot down. I should start weaning off of my crutches between weeks 6-8. I feel like it has been a little bit harder mentally this time. You’d think since I can see a small light at the end of the tunnel that it would be easier, but it turns out each surgery causes the situation to get even more old, and me to get even more tired of being debilitated. It’s almost like they’ve compounded on each other. I have good days and bad days. I try to stay positive, but usually when I am alone and I have my bad moments, I just want to crawl under a rock until this thing heals, and do nothing productive whatsoever. I’ll get there. I know this isn’t going to last forever. All I can hope and pray for now is a full recovery. My body has been through a hell of a lot. Now, it’s time to let it heal. Easier said than done.
I’ve been pretty good at eating and snacking clean!!
Speaking of snacking clean, have you guys ever had a Mamma Chia bar?? They are awesome!!! I found them in the produce section at Safeway by the other bars. They come in four flavors. Blueberry was definitely the best one, IMO.
This is the Ahi Tuna Salad from Arcadia Tavern. It was delicious!!!
I’ve also been a little bit naughty…..
A filet is actually a pretty lean cut of beef, but I had a lot more than a filet that night!!! I had stuff of off a seafood tower:
Seafood is actually pretty good for you too, though……I had some sushi roll that I didn’t take a picture of because I’ve taken pictures of it and posted it before. It’s the Magura Lime Roll from Mastro’s City Hall. If you haven’t been there, go!!! It’s in Old Town Scottsdale. I also had an oyster!! I was daring!!
Yes, that is cocktail sauce with horseradish on top. This girl likes her stuff hot!!
Overall, that night I didn’t control my portions. A girl’s gotta live sometimes, though, right!?? Here was my Easter Sunday Dessert:
I resisted the Cadbury Cream Eggs until the last day possible, and then guess what? My Walgreens down the road from my house was out :-(. I had the chocolate one instead, and it was still fantastic!!! I just really like the classic cream eggs! :-P
I’ve had a lot of fun with makeup lately! I have posted two tutorials in the past couple of weeks. If you missed them, here are some of the pictures of the looks:
This was my March Madness Louisville Eyeshadow tutorial look.
This is my friend Lauren and I at Arcadia Tavern watching Louisville beat NC State! We always have a blast when we get together! We also run into each other all the time in Scottsdale randomly! So awesome!
Here was my Sunset Inspired Eyeshadow look:
I love using these warm oranges and golds! They compliment almost every eye color, especially blue and green! The two stars of the show were MAC’s Amber Lights and Expensive Pink.
I did another really cool look Friday when my girls and I went to Sandbar for dinner. I used warm oranges and browns, and added a splash of teal to make the look springy!
The lashes I used were insanely long, but so pretty! They are from the brand Red Cherry in style #43.
I used my 1.25” curling wand to get the waves. I left about 1-2” of hair out on the ends to give it a more piecey and wavy look.
Last look for this post is this Mauve and Purple smokey eye. I wore this with my black dress to dinner at City Hall where I had the filet and oyster :-).
I filmed the Mauve and Purple look, but not the orange and teal. I should have the one edited and posted by the end of this week. Leave me a comment below if you’d like a tutorial of the orange and teal look!
Hanging out at Safeway and getting Starbucks, then grocery shopping has become a favorite pastime :-D.
I think this was the second time in like 2 weeks I made an event out of going to the grocery store! When elderly people or people that live alone tell you that the grocery store is their one chance to get out of the house, they’re not kidding! Let them do their thing! It’s so refreshing and nice to get out of the house, and be in civilization! I took my sweet time, and ended up being there for at least 1.5-2 hours one of those times!
I made a curry stir fry that I am planning on posting for WFDW (What’s For Dinner Wednesday) this week. It was super quick and simple! Stay tuned for that!
That is my updated life story, and most of the pictures I have to show you. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all have an awesome week, and I’ll be back very soon with another post!
Happy Trails!
