Fun Times On My Long Weekend
Last night, I ended up going out to Thirsty Lion with Megan and a couple of her friends. It was low key, which is exactly what I needed. Good conversations, a nice fire to sit by and a low carb Monster. What more could a girl want? Ha!
If you know me well, you know that I am not a huge fan of mirror pictures. I’m just not. When you live alone with a pug, and like your OOTD (Outfit of the Day), however, sometimes you just have to suck it up and try to take the nicest looking one that you can.
So yes my friends, here is my OOTD from yesterday. Shirt and jeans are from Pitaya on Mill Ave, shoes are Jessica Simpson and make me look like the Green Giant (I have to be at least 5’9” in those heels.) I have no idea where the belt is from, and I also forget where I got the necklace. I love it, though! It doesn’t go with very many things, so I take advantage of wearing it whenever I can:
My eye makeup was from the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. If you don’t have either of the Naked palettes, get yourself over to Ulta, like tomorrow, and get one. They are practical, versatile, and really easy to travel with.
I wish I had taken a more close up picture of my eye makeup. I just used gold on the lids, medium brown in the crease, ivory as a highlight, and a forest green liner on the lower. Simple, yet effective.
Megan ran the Skirt Chaser 5K earlier in the afternoon, and stayed out until pretty late! What a champ .
This morning, I went to a 90 minute Yin/Yang yoga class at Hot Yoga Ahwatukee. It was great! I like having both types in one class. Having a class with just yin gets boring for me. Plus, if I overstretch my hamstrings by staying in poses for too long, they get aggravated. This is the perfect combination of faster and slower poses to me.
After yoga, I went next door to Pomegranate Café and had brunch. As I sat down outside, I got to meet Bailey:
What a cutie! He looked like a yellow lab pup. Total sweetheart.
Look at this deliciousness! The juice was called the Pear Zinger, and had pear, apple, pomegranate and ginger. I want to try this combination in my juicer. In the bowl was the Green Garden Protein Bowl, which is described as:
“Egg or tofu scrambled with seasonal vegetables & kale; topped with macadamia-basil pesto and sunflower sprouts”
This was hands down one of the best dishes I have had from here! It had amazing flavor, and tons of cooked veggies that I actually liked! It is crazy how well the tofu was cooked. The lady that served it to me said that it was sautéed with a Baja Salsa. I wonder if I can re-create it at home…..? I will get this again, and again, and again! It feels so amazing to be good to my body, and to fill it with truly healthy food.
After brunch, I headed over to a spa in Chandler for my “spa afternoon.” I got a Groupon for a massage with a 30 minute add-on scalp massage and a facial. It was heavenly. It wasn’t the best massage and facial I have ever had, but it was definitely what I needed in my life to relax and be good to myself.
Then, I went to our last Ragnar team meeting at Tara’s. We have so far lost two team members to injury and gained one. Hopefully our new 12th member will end up working out. I am so sad that Ari can’t run, but really proud of her for making the tough decision to rehab her knee properly. I am going to miss her!!!
This week is going to be inundated with Ragnar preparation! This includes reading as many Ragnar race recaps as humanly possible in 5 days! I will probably highlight some of my favorites as the week goes on so you can familiarize yourself with the race if you haven’t heard about it. Definitely stay tuned for a week of fun, blog posts, and Ragnar!!
I’m off to read some blogs and go to bed now. I hope everyone had an amazing weekend!
Happy Trails!
