Week In Review: Part 2
I am currently having my blog made over, and needed a picture of me related to cooking. I tried to take one of myself:
You can tell it’s a selfie, and holding the whisk was random. Plus, you can’t see my apron! It’s so cute!! It says “Keep Calm and Bake On.” So I got a little bit frustrated when I knocked on both of my neighbor’s doors and no one was home.
A little bit later, my upstairs neighbor got home, so I went up and she took a few pictures of me with my whisk and spoonula.
These are two of my choices, and I have been leaning toward the bottom one. I’m still in the process of making my decision, and can’t wait to be able to reveal my new blog layout very soon!!
I went to Flemings Friday night to have their dinner. I’ve been there for happy hour, just not the main restaurant.
This is a new shirt I got at Grand Central Clothing, which is in Casa Paloma between AJ’s and Bath and Body works. They are owned by the same company as Diva’s Boutique on Mill Ave. Their clothes are SO cute and reasonably priced. I love trendy stuff like what they have! This shirt can be worn either tucked in or out and belted (preferably). The back is really cool, too!
Please excuse the mirror pics and the messy room. I wore my MK strappy heels with it and it turned out really cute!
Flemings is legit. I got their summer combination, which was an appetizer of chili lime shrimp served on top of shaved fennel and red onions, and an entrée of filet mignon (medium rare of course) and salmon. The steak was excellent, but the salmon was some of the best I’ve ever had! The server said that they cook it in the oven in a pan with water in it, so it is similar, but not quite the same as poaching. I definitely plan on trying it at home.
With my dinner, I had a virgin mojito-my new staple
For dessert, I had FroYo. What’s new, right?? The girl at Yoasis had never seen me dressed up, as typically I show up there in sweats or yoga pants. Her reaction was hilarious!
I always go with the intention of taking it home, but this is usually how my cup’o’froyo ends up looking when I get there. I had red velvet and cake batter with dark chocolate raspberry mini cups and Nutella. SO good!
Saturday, I went to my friend Laura’s pool party in Scottsdale. I had so much fun and met some great people! That night, I decided to try another new place. I went to The Original Chop House in Tempe, It was excellent! They serve really healthy menu items, including salads, juices and teas.
I had a watermelon iced tea and a juice with kale and a bunch of fruits called the Kale Cleanser.
Look at their ginormous chess set! I wish I knew how to play chess. Or do I??
The atmosphere outside is so chill and relaxed. It would be the perfect place to just hang with friends for an evening of relaxation and conversation.
I had a beet salad that included golden raisins, goat cheese, beets and green apples. It was delicious!! The salad obsession continues….
It came with quinoa salad of some sort. Not sure what the dressing was, but it has diced sugar snap peas in it which were unexpected and surprisingly really good!
The next day, I went to the mall with my friend Kat to have lunch, catch up on life’s shenanigans, and shop. I have been wanting a nice watch for awhile and Kat’s Nixon was really nice. I found this one by Michael Kors and fell in love!
It has gold, silver and rose gold, so it can be worn with anything! It wasn’t as expensive as one might think, actually. I love it!
I also got my makeup done at MAC and ended up buying one of their new palettes in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale preview. (Don’t have a pic right now, will try to put one in my next post for you guys. It has fantastic colors in it!) I also got their In Extreme Dimension lash mascara. This is the best mascara I’ve tried since They’re Real by Benefit. It lengthens and separates so well, and has the coolest brush! I highly recommend it to you makeup junkies out there.
That night, I went to FroYo with Karen to catch up on life, and we met Blue!!
He is an 8 week old Great Dane pup that was hanging out with his family. How cute is he!??
I’m going to head out to go to dog beach with Ali this morning, then meet up with Coach Susan at another beach! Have a great rest of your day!!
Happy Trails!
