2 Weeks Post-PRP
I went to the doctor Tuesday for my 2 week follow up appointment. The doctor was surprised that I felt worse now than I did before I got the PRP. She said that about half of the treated people see results starting in the first two weeks, and the other half don't. It can apparently take a long time to start to see any improvement in some patients. This is the only answer I got. The plan is to give it more time to heal, and re-check with an ultrasound in 6 weeks. I can't tell you how frustrating this is.
Last week was rough for a number of reasons, ending with a really stressful weekend. To make a long story short, the stress was alleviated and problem resolved on Tuesday. Tuesday was a great day! I had lunch with my amazing coach and friend Susan, and discussed future plans with a friend of mine that seem to be looking pretty bright. More on that when the details get solidified.
I have felt completely drained of faith this past week, like I have been relying on my faith, and I'm running on fumes. My gas tank is nearly empty, and I don't know where to go from here. Luckily, I have people in my life that I can turn to when I feel like this that know exactly what I need to hear and tell it like it is. I am very blessed. God is removing one thing after another from my life, and I don't know why. I don't need to know why right now, though. I just need to keep having faith that there is a purpose to all of this, and that I am going to get through it-not in my time, but in God's time. In the meantime, I am going to focus my energy on what I do have control over, not what I don't.
I actually just found an article that I thought was very interesting, considering all I have heard from doctors and literature so far is that only completely ruptured tendons get operated on. If for some reason I don't progress over the next six weeks, I am going to bring this article to my doctor. That's what you get when you get a healthcare professional that feels hopeless and cornered. Research, research, research! Primary literature to boot!
I found some really good quotes today that completely pertain to what I'm feeling right now....
That's my goal....
Speaking of cute, here is the epitome of cute!
This is SO true:
I started baking again this week! I posted a picture on Instagram the other night of some muffins that I will blog about very soon! I'll also be playing with some different varieties of pumpkin spice muffins and bread. If they turn out well, be on the lookout for those recipes, too!
That's all for today....just wanted to give you guys an update. Have a great weekend!
Happy Trails,
Stacey
