This Week's Shenanigans
This week, as I mentioned before, has been quite interesting to say the least. I continue to be challenged by life, and it is helping me grow as a person. Now I'm not saying it's easy, but we don't grow unless we plow straight through the hard times and leave our fears at the front door.
One of the things that has affected my life these past couple of weeks is that my sister Melissa was recently diagnosed with stage 1B1 cervical cancer. I discussed sharing her story with you guys, and she is all about it. Quite frankly, women need to know about this. It has to be one of the most preventable and treatable cancers out there. I will be doing a post soon on Melissa's story, because January is Cervical Cancer Awareness month. Definitely be looking out for that!
On to this past week....
I got a really pretty new lip color from Maybelline. It's from their Color Sensational Limited Edition Nudes collection. The color is called "". Isn't it pretty!?
This is Ali begging for either apple or clementine while I was snacking. It's so hard to say no to that adorable face!
Have you guys seen these? My friend Lindsey told me about them. You get them at Pet Club in the freezer. If you guys thought Ali became psycho with the short rib bone, this was just over the top wild animal behavior. I don't think I've seen her be that protective over a bone in her life! They're raw bones with marrow inside, so they're supposed to be really good for them.
Yeah, she LOOKS innocent!
Here's a picture of my favorite salad that I always show you guys. Has anyone tried making their own version yet?
Did you guys see the Colts/Chiefs game?? Holy cow!! I think I'm still recovering from it.
Ali was my Colts pug, and here was my Green Bay pug:
On Monday, I rode with two of my favorite ladies around the reservation. I love riding out there because it is totally flat and that is way easier on my hamstrings.
Did you guys see What's For Dinner Wednesday? If not, you missed a great one! Check out this gluten-free, healthier Mac and Cheese recipe if you didn't get a chance to see it already.
Ali and I got in some quality football watching this week, too.
Meet Daisy the Boston terrier. So adorable! She got Yoghünd, too!
I got some new threads from Lulu, and a package from Victoria's Secret!
I love getting packages!! Look what was inside!!
Yay! My PJ's!!
They are so cute and comfortable! They're fleece, but not too thick or too warm. They turned out to be perfect! I liked them so much that I ordered another pair while they're still on sale!
Wednesday, I got to sit in on Karen's meeting with Sarah from Oiselle. Sarah blogs over at Once Upon A Lime , and I've followed her for a long time. It was so great to meet her! She's really cool! I got to see a lot of really cute new stuff for Fall 2014! Oiselle has definitely got it going on! (Mental shopping list has been started.)
She shared with us that she has been experiencing hamstring issues, and I was able to share my experience with her. "Girrrrrrrl if you don't wanna end up a gimp like me waiting ever-so-impatiently for surgery, listen to your body and let it heal!!!!" She has a game plan, and I'm confident she'll follow it!
When I got home, Ali and I went for a walk to the mailbox. It's been our daily walk for the past week, and I thinks she's a fan!
I finally posted my upper body and core workout that I've been working on! My favorite comment I got on Facebook was "get your plank on girl!!" Yes! Planks are the devil awesome!! Check it out if you haven't already.
Last, but not least, I made Spicy Turkey Chili again this week, and have been enjoying every bite!
How was your week? Anything exciting happen?
What was your favorite meal you cooked this week?
Is your team still in the playoffs? My Colts just lost tonight and I am sad :-(. Go Broncos!!!!
Happy Trails!
