So Far This Week
Last time I talked to you guys, my Colts had just bitten the dust for the season. Ali and I watched the first half of the game at Uncle Bears in Ahwatukee. Everyone just loved her!
She sported her Colts bandana from Grandmama and Grandpapa. Thanks G&G! I love that you didn't buy me a jersey heehee!
They are totally dog friendly on their outside patio. Look what was on the front door:
Check out the handle to the bathroom door! I'm totally in love with this place!
By halftime, someone was exhausted! Mommy wasn't far behind, so we went home and changed into our PJ's for the second half.
Someone must've read my blog post, right?! Heehee ;-). That day, Ali and watched the Broncos totally cream the Chargers! You just don't know how happy that made me!
I had some really yummy healthy meals and snacks this week. Below is my Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats made with gluten free oats, almond milk, vanilla bean Greek yogurt, chia seeds, chopped apple, and cinnamon.
I left it overnight, and then added sliced banana and apple butter in the morning. SO good!!
I had bowls of fruit like this one for dessert a few times. Also super yummy!
Of course Ali had to have a couple of blueberries :-).
She had a spa day on Monday. She got an oatmeal bath and washed with her special shampoo for itchy pups.
I don't think she realizes that spa days are a good thing.
Ali and I also watched The Bachelor Monday night! and look at the pug in the charity photo shoot!!
I have gotten to the point where I would definitely rather be single than be in a mediocre or unhealthy relationship. I am content with my life as it is by myself. I have amazing friends and family that make my life so enjoyable! This meme is great:
I've been slacking in the nail polish department lately. I decided to do a simple gold look. It's a softer gold by Color Club that I got in my Birchbox. I love using softer, lighter colors like this since my nail polish always starts chipping off by day 2. It takes awhile to really start seeing it wear off.
I can't remember if I showed you guys my hair in the last post. I decided to get the blonde re-done and moved up a little bit toward my part. I also asked Emily to do the top of the ombré in a brown with less red in it. I really like the results! The closer we get to summer, the more blonde I will become :-).
As for an injury update, all I have is that I am waiting for the pre-auth (or pre-determination as the provider calls it) to be done in order to schedule the first surgery. This week has been a battle between being a patient, reasonable woman with grace and a rabid, PMSing, fire-breathing dragon . The doctor's office claimed they faxed it in on January 8th. I gave them the insurance info on December 18th. 21 days just to get it faxed in?? I can see where the holidays may have caused that one to take a little more time than usual , so I'll cut them some slack there....but if that wasn't bad enough, I called my insurance Thursday to see what was going on, and to see if they could maybe expedite the approval, and they had no record of it. Doctor's office guaranteed it was sent in, which I believe, but either the fax failed, or they sent it to the wrong department or number and it got lost in the system. So I got both the insurance and the practice coordinator on the line to let them talk, because she didn't seem to be taking my word very seriously. There was some attitude given, and I had to hold my tongue. (Pat on the back to me, because I was *pissed*) Insurance gave a better fax number, so hopefully when I call them back on Monday, it'll be in their system. I really wish I could just do it myself. It's not like I have anything going on! I mean I do, but this surgery trumps anything else in my life right now. At this rate, I feel like the surgery is a fantasy and I am hoping that someday it'll come true. I've never dealt with such ridiculous clerical hoops in my life! How hard is it to fax something and make sure it got there! Plus, I just don't understand why they won't schedule it until after they get the pre-auth. I could be there right now getting it done, and not stressing out about the fact that time is ticking away! Again my friends, be your own advocate and intervene where you can, because if I hadn't, I'd still be waiting on nothing! I have to say, though, that I look at the doctor and his credentials and experience, and my gut tells me he is worth all of the trouble; so I hope he is!
Good luck and happy trails to all of my BTB teammates and everyone else running in PF Chang's RNRAZ on Sunday!! I'm registered for the bike tour, but it's going to be a game time decision for me. I might come in last, but that's okay!
Til next time!
Happy Trails!
