Week In Review
It's becoming a little bit difficult for me to get to all of the posts done that I've been wanting to do. Studying is seriously taking up like 75% of my time, so my apologies. I'm going to throw up some smoothie recipes this weekend or early next week, though, for sure. I made an apple cinnamon smoothie the other night that turned out SO good! It actually tasted more like apple pie now that I think about it......hmmmmmm.
Do you guys remember the Crockpot Buffalo Chicken I posted a few months ago? You can use it to make lettuce wraps, too! I put goat cheese on top this time, because I didn't have any bleu cheese. Feel free to top it with whatever you want!
Ali is, as usual, loving her raw marrow bones and being psycho about anyone coming near them.
I know it's just a flower, but it's on my tree in MY backyard! I'm so blessed to be able to say that!
It's almost watermelon season! I have an idea involving watermelon that is either going to be amazing or a total epic fail. To be continued.........lol...
Another large chunk of my time is being spent on PT. My PT LaRissa and her right hand woman, Drea, are absolutely amazing! Have you guys ever done roll-outs on the ball? Want a great ab workout? Try them!
More PT. I'm on the bike here, even though you can't tell. I've definitely had some improvement this week. The pain goes up and down. Sometimes it worries me because of the location, but Dr Guanche assures me it's because of my sciatic nerve and that the pain is referred.
Speaking of Dr Guanche, my second surgery is scheduled for mid-April, so I'm a very happy woman!!
The sooner I'm done with the surgery, the sooner I can rehab, get back to work, and start training for this!! 2014 is my year you guys!! God-willing, even if I have to run-walk it, I'll run my first marathon in November! LaRissa said that I can start training on the Alter-G, which is the anti-gravity treadmill. It will remove up to 95% of your body weight and allow you to run with just 5% impact! So I'll start there and work my way down to zero support. I'm hoping this will bridge the gap between injury and running shape :-).
Kat and I had lunch this week at Sakana, which is in Tukee on Elliot and 51st St next to Cafe Boa. How have I missed this place!?!? It was really good! It was so great to catch up with Kat, too!! She's getting married in a week and a half, so give her a congratulatory shout out! Happy Wedding Kat and Todd!! I can only dream of having the kind of relationship you guys have someday....I love you guys!!
Ali and I went for a crutchless walk to the mailbox and back. She could seriously sniff stuff for a solid 20 minutes and get like 100ft down the road and still be happy.
Oh, here's the apple pie smoothie I was telling you about earlier. I'm so excited to share it with you!!
The game happened, and the Cards are out for the year. It was a great season!! So excited that I got to watch the game with two new friends that are both from Louisville!! We had a total blast watching!
Since my eye makeup took entirely too long today, I took pics of it. So here are my EOTD:
It was the winged gel liner. You guys, I'm not kidding, I spent 30-45 minutes on the liner. I had to remove each side once because I screwed them both up. I had to replace the foundation and powder and eyeshadow each time, and it was soooooo annoying!! Turned out well, at least, right??
Left handed throw of the "L"....sorry Mom. How many weeks until football season??
One last Ali photo for good measure. She's currently laying down next to me staring at my bowl of fruit I'm eating. She wants the apples. Go figure. #spoiled.
I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend and I'll talk to you soon!!
Happy Trails!!
