Back to Cali
This week went by so fast with studying everyday and packing to go back to California. I was able to take a break from all of my hustle bustle Monday night for BTB's first Oiselle shopping night at Sole Sports! Did I tell you guys that Oiselle is BTB's new official clothing sponsor? I can't remember if I did....I am so excited about it! Check out the cute shirt and shorts Susan and I were wearing:
I ended up getting both the tank and the running shorts. They're really comfortable and super cute! Now if I could only run in them....soon enough, Stacey, soon enough.
Speaking of running, all was going well with my rehab until today. I was sore (not the good kind) yesterday and this morning, and did all of my exercises before I left for San Diego. Add the 5+ hour drive, and you get Stacey freaking out because it hurts more than it has since post-op week 3! I'm just really keeping my fingers crossed that it's residual pain from the surgery, and not issues with my proximal hamstring tendon again. LaRissa says that setbacks are normal, I'll be fine as long as we stay on top of it, and to stay positive. I'm going to listen to her :-). So I'll be icing, stretching, doing my exercises, and studying my behind off for the next few days.
I dropped Ali off with Tricia and Jeff before leaving town, and look at the little stinker!
She makes it even harder to drop her off when she's being so extra stinkin' cute!!
I drove the whole way from Phx to OB (Ocean Beach) with the top down. I did feel the sun, but didn't realize just how much until I saw this:
Whaaaaaaat!? I mean I miss running, which comes with this hideous tan line in the summer, but really?? Oh, and it's primarily on my right leg. So I have a one-legged wanna be runner's tan to sport in my bikini tomorrow! Awesome.
Dead sexy
As usual, I had to stop in Dateland to get a bag of dates and one that was chocolate covered. I only buy one for a reason.
Once I got to my studio suite in OB, I took a power nap, then went to The Joint for dinner. Holy cow you guys, it was fantastic!! Check out what I got:
This was called the OG Mango Madness roll. It had crab, mango-cilantro-cucumber salad, and macadamia nuts wrapped in soy paper with a sweet Thai chili sauce. Wow. That is all.
This was their Goat Cheese Polenta topped with four different kinds of sautéed mushrooms in a sauce. I don't know what the sauce was, but it was incredible! I took half of it home to eat for lunch tomorrow. You have to go there if you're ever in OB! The menu has a ton of variety with tapas and sushi. They also have quite the beer selection and drink list if you're into that. I had my San Pelligrino and lime and it was yummy ;-).
I'm staying just two blocks from Newport Ave, and two blocks from the beach in a little "luxury" studio. It is so nice and so affordable! Pardon my stuff strewn around all over the place, but here are some pics:
Look at the little ice cubes! Aren't they cute!?
Getting to spend some time here to relax (well, and study my ass off) before my surgery is so nice. I'll be talkin' to you guys again really soon. I hope you're having a great week!
Happy Trails!
