Why Don't I Live in Cali, Again?

I could always buy the plot of land that costs about the same as my house in AZ, and set up a nice big tent. Ali could have her own dog house! Haha! Living on the coast is still floating around somewhere near my five-year plan as a possibility; but for now, I remain a desert rat.

My time here in OB has been wonderful! Yesterday while studying at Jungle Java, I met Eloise:

She seriously made my day. I mean, all pugs are cute, but pug puppies!?? They take the cake every time! Eloise is 11 weeks old, and in that stage where her little tummy grows to twice its size when she eats her dinner. Ali was the exact same way when she was a pup! Here is Caitlyn the barista with little Eloise:

I switched venues and went to The Lazy Hummingbird in the afternoon. I just needed a change of scenery, and some sunshine since it was kinda cold in the shade at JJ. Right after I got there, in walks another pug!

It turns out that his name was Buckshot. How many pugs in OB do you think there are with that name? Exactly. So I asked Ashley, the mom, if she brought him down to Dog Beach much, and she said yes! We actually met on DB last time I was here in February! She remembered! How completely random and cool is that?

So I got my dose of pug for the day! I stayed for a couple more hours, then went home to get ready for the evening.

I met my new friend Lukas at Fathom on Shelter Island for drinks and some dinner. It got cold really fast after the sun went down, so we went to Lucy's back in OB to play some pool.

We ended the night tied. I won by default twice, and was SO close to actually hitting the eight ball in and winning legitimately!! There might need to be a rematch....;-).

Oh, and OOTD-all from a Grand Central Clothing. I dared to wear white pants, and didn't spill anything on them!! I did get two tiny spots of blue chalk on one leg, but that's way better than I expected to do.

(Again FTR-I still despise mirror pics, but it's the only choice I had to show you my outfit, kids.)

Today I slept in and got about a noon start to my day. The weather was perfect. It was sunny and probably about 75. I had lunch at Wonderland on the beach, and got started on reviewing immunizations.

I had a veggie burger with iced Blackberry Jasmine tea and a Red Bull for lunch. Threw some sweet and spicy mustard and Sriracha on it, and it was a winner!

Then I went here:

Then, I had dessert. You guys, seriously, I had chocolate covered bacon. The other one was a red pepper flake and salted caramel. I also ate the saltwater taffy before I even had a chance to get a picture of it.

It was so ridiculously sinful that I have absolutely no shame. The caramel was fantastic, as well! I'm a huge fan of trying new things, of spicy food, and of course, chocolate. I forget the name of the candy place I got them from, but I can tell you it was on Newport Ave on the block closest to the beach on the north side of the road. They also had chocolate covered jalapeños. Maybe I'll try one of those next time!

What a great day! I have no idea what I'm doing tonight. I might go grab dinner at OB Noodle House and then study like a huge nerd. I have plans tomorrow night, so I don't feel so bad about laying low for one evening. We'll see what transpires.

I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend, and I'll be talkin' to y'all again very soon!

Happy Trails!

Stacey
