My First Ipsy Bag!
I got my first Ipsy Bag in the mail this week. Look at how cute the package is!!
The bag itself was really cute, too! Not that I need anymore little bags....isn't it funny how over time you accumulate SO many of them?
Next, I got an SPF 8 tanning oil. Not sure how that'll do here in AZ, but at least it smells good!
Then I got this cream eyeshadow from Bare Minerals. I really didn't know what I was going to think of it at first glance. After I watched it, I was super impressed!! The color is beautiful, and the texture is really nice. I can't wait to use it!
Next, I got a Tinted Brilliance Balm from Pixi. I've used a tinted lip balm from this brand before. In fact, I think I got it in my Birchbox a few months back.
This balm is a really pretty light to medium pink color. It's alright, but nothing too special in my book.
Last, but definitely not least, I got a gorgeous bronzer from Pop Beauty. I am absolutely in love with this bronzer! I think it, by itself, made the whole bag worth getting.
It's a beautiful golden bronze with a sheen and very fine shimmer that's just enough without being overkill. It has such a velvety texture, too. I love it!! I bet it would be pretty as an eye shadow, as well....
Here's a FOTD picture from last week, and I'm actually wearing a very light application of it on my cheeks. You can't really see it that well, so my apologies for that. Next time I wear it, I'll try to get a better picture and post it for you guys.
I did this eye look based on a tutorial that Jaclyn Hill did called Smokey Summertime Sparkle. My version ended up looking way less redish-pinkish and more coral-orangey. I used a Amber Lights by MAC on the lid, and Jaclyn used a pinkish Stila Magnificent Metals Foil shadow. (I really need to get my hands on some of that shadow, it's amazing!) I also kept the two darker colors more concentrated in the crease instead of bringing them up above it. Either way, the look turned out great!
On the lips, I'm wearing Blankety by MAC and a NYX gold colored lip gloss. Don't ask me how long it took to do the winged liner.
Thank you for making light of this issue!! For those of you that don't do gel or cream winged out liner, do me a favor and try it sometime ;-). You'll quickly understand and empathize!
Overall, I'm really glad I started getting the Ipsy Bag! I think it's another case where the value of the items in the bag is definitely more than what you pay for it. (Both Ipsy and Birchbox are only $10 a month!) Plus, how fun is it to get to be surprised by fun beauty stuff TWICE a month!?
I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and it helped any of you that have been on the fence about getting one. Have a wonderful rest of the week and I love you guys!
Happy Trails!
