The 12 Days of Blogmas Day 7 - Sausage and Bean Ragout

I got to hang out with some of my favorite girlfriends this morning, and then I came home and laid low for the rest of the day. I was going to go to The Yard in Tempe with some friends, but the meet up got cancelled. Everyone is just so busy right now, so I completely understand. I watched more Gossip Girl today. I totally have a girl crush on Blake Lively. She is so gorgeous! Not to mention her husband….damn. Just damn. The fashion on that show is so fantastic! It reminds me of Revenge, which in and of itself is a runway show every episode. I wish I could raid Emily Thorne’s closet.I also wish I could raid Serena’s! Anyway, so another day in the life of a post-op patient :-).

The only other thing noteworthy from today was dinner. I made this:

I got this recipe straight from a Swanson broth soup recipe card booklet. It was super easy, and turned out incredible!! Here is the recipe card:

The only things I did differently were use ground turkey and hot italian turkey sausage as my meats, added 1-2 cups of extra chicken broth, and used Italian seasoning in addition to fresh basil. I also soaked up about 90% of the grease from the meat with paper towels to lessen the fat and calories. I like doing this better than rinsing and draining for two reasons: Reason one is that it prevents the risk of clogging my drain. Reason two is it preserves flavor. Ali really wanted some, and I don’t blame her!

The only other thing I did was use gluten free pasta instead of regular. I got the pasta in my Taste Guru box a couple of months ago, and it turned out to be really good!

I hope you guys had a great Saturday! Good luck with getting the rest of your Christmas shopping done! I took one pass through Target’s parking lot today on my way home, and proceeded right out the other side back and went home instead. I love online shopping!! Have a wonderful Sunday, and I’ll talk to y’all again very soon!

Happy Trails,

Stacey
