Taste Guru Box for July and What's a For Dinner Wednesday
I know I've mentioned on here before that I get the Taste Guru box sent to me every month. It's a box full of gluten free food items ranging from snacks and GF pasta to quick prep meals in a box. I've decided in honor of the theme of "unboxings" that I would show you guys what I got in mine this month!
Here's what it looks like when you get it in the mail:
Open it up:
They include information and coupons for the products they give you each month. Some are available online only, and others at stores like Whole Foods, Sprouts, and sometimes your neighborhood grocer.
These little sample bars are by Elizabeth Hasselbeck, who has celiac disease and eats completely GF all the time. They're called NoGii bars, and their texture reminds me of a Lara Bar. They're even Paleo! I really like them!
Nature Valley also makes GF bars now. They're super yummy!
This granola is ridiculous. I tried it today since I'm having overnight oats for breakfast tomorrow, and I was really impressed! Check out the healthy stuff it's made with! Plus, I can always be won over by anything that is pumpkin flavored!
I added this sauce to some boneless skinless chicken breast that I cooked in the crockpot earlier this week. I served it over a polenta cake, and it was great! Polenta is really easy to make, did you guys know that? I've had a bag of it sitting in my pantry since I lived at my apartment, and I finally took the plunge. SO simple and good!
This is the second time they've sent this particular GF pasta, but it's really good so I don't mind.
This popcorn is almost gone, and I got the box less than a week ago. They've sent a few different kinds of popcorn previously, and I've never been disappointed.
Now, I'm going to show you what I made for dinner with an item that I got several months ago. It turned out SO good! I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this!
So yes, it's a meal prepared from a box (with a few added ingredients,) but it's non-GMO, gluten free, and all natural. I couldn't tell you the last time I made dinner out of a box, because a lot of what's out there is so processed and also not GF. Here's the back of the box:
I think the directions are so cute! The bags that the mixes come in are also measuring cups! You can read the directions, so I'll show you step-by-step pics:
I topped it with a dollop of plain Greek yogurt, and it was money!! I wish I could share a plate with all of you!! It took about 30 minutes just like the box claimed. Super easy, and very healthy. I used paper towels to soak up the fat from the ground turkey after it browned, and less of a healthier cheese to modify the nutritional content to be healthier. Little changes like this can make a huge difference when done regularly.
I hope you guys liked this post! If you'd like to see more posts like this, please leave a comment below and let me know! Have a wonderful rest of your week, and I'll talk to you guys soon!
Happy Trails!
