AMRAP Nutrition Bar Review
Hi guys! My apologies for the absence, but I've been unsuccessfully trying to use a new blogging app on my new computer. The app is great until I go to publish, then it times out over and over again. I have contacted the company, and will hopefully have the problem solved soon.
I have been given an opportunity to try out a new product that I would like to share with you! I was sent three flavors of the AMRAP Bar, which is a nutrition bar packed with natural ingredients to help fuel your body for its best performance. AMRAP stands for "As Many Rounds As Possible."
"As Many Rounds As Possible (AMRAP) defines our philosophy. Through determination, intensity, and focus, we aim to inspire and empower our community to reach their full health and fitness potential."
AMRAP bars are:
100% Paleo

They come in three favors:

Cashew Vanilla Bar:

Now your natural reaction to seeing the nutritional facts may be "holy cow there is a lot of fat in those!" That's understandable, but you have to consider the quality and type of fat we're talking about. The bars average about 300 calories a pop. I am way more likely to include these in my diet when I am training. (Most of you guys know that I am still in PT rehabbing from my surgeries, so I am watching my calorie count intensely.) I actually had my bars for breakfast all three times.
One of the most important aspects of these is their high fat content. You might be thinking fat…why on Earth would we want more of that!? Here’s why: The benefits of a diet with a high-fat to carb ratio are remarkable and the effects it has on your health and body composition will pleasantly surprise you. Eating a high-fat, low-carb diet is the easiest way to inadvertently eat less without sacrificing satiation or satisfaction. And that is exactly what these bars provide.
When talking about fat, I'm talking about good quality, mono and poly-unsaturated fats like nuts, avocado, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, flax seeds, salmon, etc. These fats can help lower LDL (bad cholesterol,) lower the risk of heart disease and stroke, reduce inflammation throughout the body, and help with weight loss, among other things. So don't freak out. Just learn to embrace good fats as a crucial part of a clean and healthy diet like I have :-). As with anything, consume these healthy fats in moderation. Pay more attention to the calorie content, not the fat content.
